Improved bilateral trade thanks to a direct shipping service

Pakistani exports can now reach Russia in 19 to 24 days thanks to a direct shipping service. 
 
According to local media, the direct shipping service launched in May 2023 between Pakistan and Russia has improved bilateral trade. The new service is the result of an agreement between Pak Shaheen (Private) Limited and Russian express liner service Neco Line.
 
This new service helps Pakistani exporters, as shipments now reach Russia within 19 to 24 days (previously 50 days via a third country). 
 
Trade between Pakistan and Russia, according to a report by the PBC (Pakistan Business Council), is worth 757.6 million USD. Pakistan's exports to Russia amount to 145 million USD, 34% of which are fruit shipments. Pakistan's imports from Russia total 617 million USD, the main products being cereals, vegetables, mineral fuels, iron and steel, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers and organic chemicals.
