How is the development of peppers, cucumbers, eggplants and tomatoes in greenhouses in Almeria going?

Printable version
In mid-October, in the greenhouses of Almería, there was an increase in the number of bell pepper plantations that had already begun harvesting. The later plantations were in the process of flowering, fruit set and fruit growth.

According to the most recent report issued by the agricultural and fisheries information service of the Junta de Andalucía, in the case of tomato, harvesting had begun in the earliest plantations, while in the rest of the plantations, trellising and detailing work continued. The presence of recently planted greenhouses was also noteworthy.

As for cucumber, greenhouses were observed in various stages of development, some recently transplanted and others in full production in the earliest plantations.

For eggplant, work was continuing on staking, fruit set and fruit growth. In the earliest plantations, harvesting continued, although with prices in a lower range. In addition, zucchini transplants continued to be carried out, with the earliest plantations already in the harvesting phase, although prices remained somewhat low. In this crop, trellising was also carried out.
