Banana industry experts gather in Guayaquil in October

 

The Ecuadorian Banana Exporters Association (AEBE) is gearing up for its 20th International Convention, Banana Time 2023, which will take place in Hilton Colón Hotel in Guayaquil from October 24 to 27, 2023.

The event will include knowledge-sharing sessions, commercial exhibitions, and captivating business roundtables to give attendees a comprehensive insight into the pioneering innovations and evolving trends that will shape the industry’s future, ensuring profitable outcomes for Ecuador as a formidable banana-producing nation.

Additionally, an in-depth analysis will be conducted regarding climatic phenomena, particularly El Niño and La Niña in Ecuador, alongside initiatives to gauge and mitigate the carbon and water footprint associated with banana cultivation.

This year's convention will attract over 80 companies representing the kaleidoscope of the banana sector's value chain, encompassing producers, exporters, shipping entities, ports, logistics firms, and various service providers.

Jose Antonio Hidalgo, the Association's Director, said that this year, they aim to enhance their presence in the international market. Consequently, they will be promoting substantial transformations in farm productivity, encompassing technical and economic facets, as well as addressing labour, social, and environmental dimensions.
