Surge in Peruvian avocado exports until April

 

During the first four months of 2023, Peru experienced a surge in avocado exports, with a total of 148,796,816 kilos being shipped. This figure means a growth of +31.86% compared to the 112,842,982 kilos exported during the corresponding period in 2022.

According to Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, the president of a consulting firm Inform@cción, January accounted for 4,579,740 kilos (compared to 4,506,132 kilos in January 2022); February, 16,363,783 kilos (compared to 10,468,678 kilos in February 2022); March, 47,405,643 kilos (32,052,407 kilos in March 2022); and April, 80,447,650 kilos (65,815,765 kilos in April 2022).

The primary destinations for Peruvian avocados during the first four months of this year were the Netherlands, Spain, China, Chile, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan, among several others.
