Agricultural production increased in Ukraine in 2021

Volumes for the 2021 harvests show an increase compared to the previous year. Growth of +2.5% for the production of potatoes, growth of +2.9% for the production of vegetables and growth of +10.7% for the production of fruits and berries.
 
According to data from the National Statistical Service of Ukraine, regarding fruit and vegetable crops, in 2021 the country harvested 21.35 million tons of potatoes (+2.5% compared to 2020). ) as well as 9.93 million tonnes of vegetables (+2.9%) and 2.24 million tonnes of fruits and berries (+10.7%). Declining: fodder beets with 5.17 million tonnes (-6%) and grapes with 0.26 million tonnes (-8.3%).
 
The yield of these crops also improved last year: with vegetables 21.54 tonnes per hectare (+4%), with potatoes 16.64 tonnes per hectare (+6%), with for fruits and berries 11.86 tons per hectare (+12%), with for grapes 7.58 tons per hectare (+0.3%) and for legumes 2.19 tons per hectare (+13.5% ).
 
In 2021, Ukraine harvested 85.7 million tons of cereals and legumes, or +32% compared to 2020. Wheat accounted for 32.07 million tons (+28.9%), corn 41 .87 million tons (+38.2%), barley 9.42 million (+23.3% more) and legumes 681,000 tons. In total the harvest of all agricultural crops amounted to 165.1 million tons.
