12.6% increase for Tunisian citrus exports

The export season has started well, according to data from GIFruit (Groupement Interprofessionnel des Fruits) Tunisian citrus exports increased by 12.6% compared to the previous year.
 
 
 
According to GIFruit (Interprofessional Fruit Group), Tunisian citrus exports reached 6,430 tonnes, for the period from November 1, 2019 to February 17, 2020. This is an increase of 12.6% compared to the previous season.
 
 
 
These 6,430 tonnes of citrus fruits were exported mainly to France (4,263.8 tonnes) and Libya (1,986 tonnes). Maltese orange is the most requested citrus, accounting for 80% of the total volume exported. Then come other varieties of oranges, lemons, organic oranges and tangerines.
 
 
 
Citrus exports generated revenue of around TND 15 million TND ($5.2 million) compared to TND 14.5 million ($5 million) the previous year.
