Back to growth for 2018/19 grape production

Printable version
SATI (South African Table Grape Industry) has released its first estimate of the grape harvest for the 2018/19 season with volumes expected to increase compared to the previous season.

2018/19 production volumes are estimated at between 63.2 million and 70.1 million boxes (= 4.5 kg). Or significantly higher than the 62 million boxes of the 2017/18 season.

The winter rains ended the drought that affected the Western Cape region. This positive prospect, linked to new plantations, explains the return to growth for the production of grapes.
