With a current position of 31st in the world ranking of food security, the United Arab Emirates set the goal of entering the TOP 10 by 2021.
 
 
 
In the United Arab Emirates the Minister of State for Food Security, has issued a roadmap to promote the goals of the national food security strategy and support necessary improvements.
 
 
 
This roadmap is based on innovation and includes several axes: the development of a food data strategy; development of an innovation strategy for research and development, establishment of a national food loss and waste management program, expansion of nutrition guidelines and improvement of the regional business environment .
 
 
 
The ambition is to improve the current position of the country (31st) in the world ranking of food security, and to be in the TOP 10 by 2021.
 
 
 
At the meeting where this roadmap was presented, participants also discussed strategies for agricultural trade that would position the UAE as a regional trade center for food products in the Middle East.
