The 2022 litchi campaign could start soon in Madagascar

The CTHT (Horticultural Technical Center of Tamatave) has set up a monitoring system and carries out periodic surveys in the main production areas.
 
According to the CTHT report dated October 12, the observations and measurements made (fruit development, volumes, quality, etc.) make it possible to predict a possible start of the 2022 harvest in week 46 or week 47.
 
The lack of rain at the beginning of October and the relatively low temperatures compared to seasonal norms slowed the development of the fruits and erased the earliness initially expected.
