Peruvian blueberry exports decline

Peruvian blueberry production demonstrates a decrease of 52% to date, compared to the same month in 2022, reaching 20,137 tons. This decline is mainly attributed to the reduction of harvest areas, which were affected by adverse weather conditions on the northern coast of the country, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) of Peru has revealed that to date.

In the technical report titled "Peru: Departmental Economic Panorama", the INEI details that blueberry production experienced notable reductions in the main producing departments. Piura leads with a decrease of 79.7%, closely followed by Lambayeque with a decrease of 78.5%, and La Libertad with a contraction of 50.1%. Likewise, decreases were recorded in the departments of Áncash (-33.3%) and Lima (-12.5%). In contrast, increases in production figures were observed in Moquegua (22.9%) and Ica (4.2%).
