All set for the 20th International Convention Banana Time 2023

Join the 20th International Convention Banana Time 2023, taking place from October 24 to 27, 2023, at the luxurious Hilton Colón Hotel in Guayaquil (Ecuador).

Hosted by the Association of Ecuadorian Banana Exporters (AEBE), this event is strongly focused on climate and sustainability.

The conference agenda covers various topics, from examining productive conditions and labor relations to addressing critical business and market matters. Notably, the vital themes of climate and sustainability will be explored, including an in-depth analysis of Ecuador’s climatic phenomena — El Niño and La Niña. Experts will also delve into initiatives to measure and reduce the carbon and water footprint of banana production.

Here are two key conferences to attend: "Contributions of the FAO World Banana Forum to Sustainability: Progress and challenges for true shared responsibility" and "Monitoring the climate in Ecuador: Effects of La Niña and El Niño phenomena".

José Antonio Hidalgo, Executive Director of AEBE, highlights Ecuador's social and environmental sustainability dedication. "We want to showcase Ecuador's commitment to sustainability". "This includes adhering to the Living Wage, partnering with international organizations and local authorities for occupational health, and ensuring the well-being of our workers—a crucial aspect of our industry. Ecuador is ready to lead in the most demanding markets."

The event welcomes industry experts and anyone interested in contributing to the growth and revitalization of Ecuador's flagship export product, bananas. To participate in Banana Time 2023, visit the webpage.
