Multiscan Technologies presents innovative equipment for blueberry sorting

Multiscan Technologies is preparing to showcase its cutting-edge solutions at Fruit Attraction. This year is especially significant following Multiscan's recent acquisition by Duravant. They will join forces with other Duravant group companies, including WECO and Key Technology, to present a range of products designed for sorting and handling food products.

At this edition of Fruit Attraction, Multiscan will unveil its brand-new Multiscan BB20 equipment, designed for blueberry sorting. This innovative solution complements WECO's SORTIVATOR line, which offers various modules that can be combined to cater to all the sorting requirements of blueberry growers.

Multiscan and WECO

WECO has been a pioneer in developing and manufacturing blueberry sorting technology since 2005, providing comprehensive solutions for blueberry packing plants. Their SORTIVATOR sorting line includes a range of configurable modules, such as blowers, color sorters, soft sorters, and size sorters. Additionally, WECO offers equipment for sorting wet and frozen blueberries.

Multiscan Technologies, on the other hand, has been applying machine vision technology to the agri-food industry for over 25 years. They are renowned for their olive sorting solutions and have a strong presence in other sectors like tomatoes, cherries, and nuts. Their recent integration with Duravant brings their expertise to the blueberry sector. Their new sorter, which categorizes by color, quality, and size, adds tremendous value to the SORTIVATOR line, creating a more comprehensive solution for blueberry growers.

Introducing the Multiscan BB20

The Multiscan BB20 is now available in the market, with results already validated by different customers. Despite its compact size, this machine can handle up to 2,000 kg/h of blueberries. It incorporates Multiscan’s highly efficient SpinSort technology, providing a 360° product analysis.

One of the standout features of this equipment is its four outputs, allowing it to classify blueberries based on color, defect presence, and size criteria. It can detect quality issues, including green, red, wrinkled, soft, broken, double, and dry external defects and the presence of tail, flower, tear, and larvae damage. The Multiscan BB20 complements the sorting capabilities of the SORTIVATOR line, making it one of the most productive and efficient solutions on the market for ensuring high-quality blueberries.
