Fruit Attraction Fresh Produce Area increases 14% year-on-year

Organized by IFEMA MADRID, FEPEX and Andalusia as the Guest Region, Fruit Attraction will celebrate its 15th anniversary from 3 to 5 October. The event will host 2,000 exhibiting companies from 56 countries on over 64,000 sq.m. metres of space, anticipating an attendance of 90,000 experts from 135 countries. 

 

The Fresh Produce Area makes up a significant 70% of the fair. It's a substantial 14% growth compared to the previous year. The Related Industry Area, accounting for 25%, also experienced an upswing, with two of its sectors on the rise: Biotech Attraction by 5% and Smart Agro by a remarkable 20%. In addition, the Fresh Food Logistics Area soared with a staggering increase of over 31%, featuring the participation of 48 companies.

 

Domestic representation makes up 60% of the fair. As a global leader in the fruit and vegetable market, Spain will shine through the presence of nearly all autonomous communities engaged in fruit and vegetable production. 

The international segment contributes 40% to the fair's diversity, with 56 countries joining. This year, 17 new markets have been incorporated, including Austria, Denmark, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, reinforcing Europe's strong presence.

Fruit Attraction's primary goal is to provide a platform for international expansion and promotion. To achieve this, IFEMA MADRID, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food and ICEX, is again launching the International Buyers Programme. This initiative will draw over 700 buyers from 70 countries, including retail purchasing managers, importers, and wholesalers to Madrid, injecting a vibrant dynamic into the fair.

An exciting addition is the Noted Importing Country, featuring Brazil, Canada, and the United States as the central players. Fruit Attraction aims to cultivate and boost trade relations with these markets, supported by an extensive program of roundtable discussions, guided tours of the fair, and B2B sessions.
