Sharp drop in Peruvian passion fruit exports

Exports of Peruvian passion fruit during the first four months of 2023 reached $357,354, representing a decrease of -37.2% compared to the same period last year, when $569,450 were recorded, according to the Agroexports Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX).
 
According to the ADEX Data Trade Intelligence System, the Netherlands was the main destination for Peruvian granadillas, with purchases valued at $223,150, representing 62.4% of the total. However, this figure recorded a year-on-year drop of -54.6%. In second place was Italy, with $56,634, a share of 15.8% and an increase of 14.9%.
 
Other important destinations were the United Kingdom ($42,435), Spain ($19,630) and Germany ($6,434); followed by Canada, United Arab Emirates, France, Switzerland and Aruba. Of this group, the last three countries reduced their demand (-27.5%, -16.6% and -98.3%, respectively).
