In Zimbabwe, over a 3-year period, berry exports have recorded remarkable growth in both volume and value.
Local media report that, according to ZimStats (Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency) data, in 2022 the country exported 5 million kilos of berries worth 14 million USD. Compared with 2019, this represents an increase of +400% in volume (1 million kg in 2019) and +600% in value (2 million USD in 2019).
In 2022, berries will climb to No. 2 in the ranking of horticultural exports by value, from No. 8 in 2019.
