EU agri-food exports continue to grow

Following the rebound in exports in February, EU agri-food trade continued to grow, with an increase in exports in March.
 
According to the latest report published by the European Commission on agri-food trade, exports during the month of March reached 21.5 billion EUR, i.e. +16% compared to February 2023 and +14% compared to March 2022.
 
For the 1st quarter of 2023, EU agri-food exports totaled 58.2 billion EUR. This represents +13% compared to the same period in 2022.
 
Almost all product categories recorded higher export values than last year's figures. In particular, fruit preparations, nuts and vegetables (+698 million EUR, or +31%).
 
For the 1st quarter of 2023, the 3 main destinations for EU agri-food exports were the UK, the USA and China, followed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.
