Downward trend in Peruvian asparagus exports

Between January and May 2023, fresh asparagus exports from Peru decreased both in value and volume, if compared to the same term in 2022.

 

According to Agrodata Perú, during the first 5 months of the ongoing year, the country exported 26.786.096 kilos of the product, priced at $86.476.338.

 

In the same term of 2022, Peru shipped 33.184.845 kilos of asparagus, for a total value of $91.035.338.

 

The main destinations until May 2023 were the United States (60% of total value), the United Kingdom (18%), the Netherlands (11%), Spain (6%), Belgium (1%), and Brazil (1%), among others.
