Avocado: The season promises to be quite satisfactory in California

In California, winter and early spring rains helped delay the start of harvest but also helped replenish water supplies

According to local media, California avocado growers are reporting higher quality fruit and increased size as well as good yields.

In some areas, the harvest is even described as exceptional by producers who believe that the rains have been very beneficial.

Prior to the start of harvest, the California Avocado Commission had forecast total production volume of 257 million pounds, down slightly from the previous season's 276 million pounds.
