According to local media that use data from the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2022 the value of exports of so-called primary agricultural products, that is to say without processing, reached 381.8 billion yen. Or +11% compared to the previous year.

 

Record exports were recorded for rice, green tea and many fruits and vegetables, including apples and strawberries. Demands for apples and strawberries increased mainly in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

 

 

The main countries importing Japanese products

.China, sales of approximately 278.3 billion yen, or +25% compared to the previous year.

.Hong Kong, revenue of about 208.6 billion yen, down 5% from a year earlier

.United States, revenue of approximately 193.9 billion yen, or +15% compared to the previous year

.Taiwan, turnover of 148.9 billion yen, or +20% compared to the previous year.

 

In total for 2022, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, the export value of agricultural products, forestry products, fishery products and food products, reached the record level of 1.4148 trillion yen, or + 14% compared to the previous year.
