A very satisfactory start to the year 2023 for Vietnamese exports of fruits and vegetables, which recorded an increase of +29% in value compared to the same period of 2022.
Local media reports that according to Vinafruit (Vietnam Fruit and Vegetables Association) fruit and vegetable exports in the first 5 months of this year reached almost 1.9 billion USD. That is, compared to the same period of 2022, an increase of +29%.
China is the 1st country of destination with a turnover of 805 million USD, that is a variation of +6% compared to the same previous period and a share of 42% of total exports. The other main destinations are the United States, the Netherlands and Malaysia.
For this year 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development estimates that fruit and vegetable export earnings should reach 4 billion USD, against 3.34 billion USD last year.
