The ban, recently passed, had caused concern among Turkish producers and exporters but also among all importers of Turkish tomatoes.
Turkish media reports that the Ministry of Commerce has withdrawn the export restriction permit granted last year to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for certain products, including tomatoes.
Thus, the restriction on tomato exports which was to last until April 14, has been lifted.
The Ministry of Commerce, with its decision published in the Official Gazette, has reassigned to itself the power to restrict exports if necessary. The Ministry of Commerce may, at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, limit agricultural products when it deems it necessary.
