Jump of +17.8% in value for Vietnamese exports

Promising performance for the fruit and vegetable sector which has just recorded for the first 2 months of 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, an increase in value of +17.8%.

Local media reports that VinaFruit (Vietnam Fruit & Vegetable Association) announced that for the period of the first 2 months of 2023 the export of fruits and vegetables amounted to 592 million USD. That is +17.8% compared to the same period of 2022.

This performance is largely due to the full reopening of the Chinese market. Some Vietnamese professionals report an increase of +30% to +50% in their exports to China. This suggests new performances for 2023.

In 2023, China is expected to import USD 2.5 to 3 billion worth of fruits and vegetables from Vietnam, and the VinaFruit organization forecasts around USD 1 billion for Vietnamese durian shipments alone.
