The first shipment of Moldovan apples arrived in India in early January. More than 100 tons of the fruit were exported by the companies FreshTime and Farm-Prod, reports the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters, Moldova Fruct.

 

The five containers of the Red Chief and Gala varieties were shipped from the Romanian port of Constanta to Mumbai and Chennai.

 

In recent years, Moldovan exporters have focused on diversifying their markets, and in 2022, their apples reached 32 international destinations, up from 18 in 2021.
