The annual Europatat Congress has become a key platform to assess the state of play of the potato sector and to communicate the priorities and challenges facing the potato sector in Europe and beyond. .
Europatat and the Polish Potato Federation have announced that the next Europatat Congress will take place from 5 to 7 June 2023 in Gdańsk, the maritime capital of Poland and one of the largest ports in the Baltic Sea.
"We are very happy to organize for the very 1st time the Europatat Congress in Poland. Currently, we are the 2nd largest potato producer in the EU and the potato industry represents a significant part of Polish food production, the annual turnover of which reaches several billion zlotys", underlined Tomasz Bieńkowski, president of the Polish Potato Federation.
Europatat organizes its Congress every 2 years in Brussels (Belgium) the capital of the EU and every 2 years in a different European location. This rotation offers the possibility to all potato traders to host the congress in their country, which allows them to present the activities of Europatat to the potato industry and national authorities.
