Turkish media reports that Sebahattin Arslantürk, a board member of the National Hazelnut Council, announced that hazelnut exports in the first 10 months reached 239,934 tons in volume and USD 1.325 billion in value.

 

The National Hazelnut Board expects Turkish production which is currently around 700,000 tons to grow to 1 million tons in the next 5-10 years.

 

According to FAO data, Turkey ranks 1st in the world for hazelnut production with 665,000 tons in 2020, according to TUIK data, hazelnut production reached 684,000 tons in 2021 and exports reached 157,000 tons for the 2020/21 season.
