For oranges, the volume exported increased by +42% compared to the previous campaign. All destinations recorded very satisfactory growth rates, in particular the American market (multiplication by 3) and the African market (multiplication by 2.2).
The Ministry of Agriculture clarified that total production in Morocco during this 2021/22 campaign reached 2.67 million tonnes of citrus fruits, an increase of +14% compared to the 2020/21 campaign. Citrus production comes mainly (85%) from 4 regions of the country: Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (700,000 tons), Souss-Massa (672,000 tons), Oriental (460,000 tons) and Béni Mellal-Khénifra (436,000 tons). tons).
