Tunisian fruit exports recorded an increase of +12% in volume and an increase of +25% in value compared to the same period of 2021.
According to Gifruits (Interprofessional Fruit Grouping) data, for the period from January 1 to June 10, 2022, fruit exports reached 15,763 tons, or +12% compared to the same period of 2021.
In terms of value, these fruit exports generated 55.9 million TND (18.1 million USD), or +25% compared to 44.5 million TND (14.4 million USD) during the same period of 2021.
Libya remains the leading destination market, followed by Italy, the United Arab Emirates, France and Kuwait.
In terms of fruit categories, watermelon represented the largest volume with 4,887 tonnes exported, followed by peaches with 4,226 tonnes, apricot with 2,734 tonnes, loquat with 1,215 kg and plum with 712 kg.
