Interrupted with the start of the Russian military operation, deliveries of seed potatoes to Ukraine have resumed. A 1st batch of 22 tonnes of seed potatoes from Germany.
Record Agro LLC, the official distributor of the German company Europlant, has resumed deliveries of high reproduction potato seeds to Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian Association of Potato Growers, this 1st imported batch totaled 22 tons of seed potatoes of Bellarosa, Sanibel, Jelly and Vineta varieties.
This 1st batch is intended for Ukrainian farms with the status of elite farms - certified seed production companies - which will set up seed plantations in Ukraine for the 2023 harvest.
Record Agro, is currently the only official importer of seed potatoes in Ukraine, while the work of seed farms is hampered by the situation. These Ukrainian farms are now growing seed potatoes from items purchased from European breeding companies in 2021.
