In Tunisia, fruit exports to Libya have doubled

Despite the difficulties linked to the pandemic, Tunisian fruit exports show satisfactory results with a volume multiplied by 2 for shipments to Libya.
 
According to GIF data (Groupement interprofessionnel des fruits) stopped on September 3, Tunisian fruit exports to the Libyan market, between early January and early September 2021, reached 24,000 tonnes against 11,000 tonnes for the same period last year.
 
Thus despite the closure of land borders between the 2 countries due to the pandemic, Tunisian fruit exports to Libya were transported by sea, via a line connecting Sfax to Tripoli.
 
In terms of value, over the period, Tunisian fruit exports to Libya reached 40 million TND (14.339 million USD) against 22 million TND (7.886 million USD) for the same period of the year 2020.
 
Towards other countries, over this period January to early September 2021, Tunisian fruit exports reached 31,458 tonnes for a value of 76.743 million TND (27.511 million USD) against 19,214 thousand tonnes for a value of 54.575 million TND (19.564 million USD) during the same period last year.
 
Fruit exports to Kuwait increased in value, those to Italy increased in volume and value, those to France decreased in value.
