Moroccan exports to Europe increase

The health crisis impacting Europe has caused a drop in production in certain producing regions and demand from European countries and is therefore turning to Morocco.

The drop in fruit and vegetable production in Europe and mainly in Spain, due to the lack of labor, has positive effects on Moroccan exports.

According to Moroccan professionals, European demand has increased for a wide variety of products, including tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, eggplant and especially citrus fruits. The highest demand comes from Germany, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

However, this good news for the Moroccan sector is tempered by a concern about the logistics chain. Some carriers are now refusing to cross Spain for fear of contagion. This will cause an increase in transport prices.
