Mangoes shipments to resume soon

After 6 years of ban, Kenya plans to resume its mango exports to Europe, the United States and other export markets.

Mango exports from Kenya were banned in 2014 following the finding of high levels of fruit flies. Since 2014 the country has implemented measures to combat this parasite.

Kephis (Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service) says the problem is now under control. Kephis has established 5 pest-free zones in the country, the production of which can be exported. Exports will be able to resume next year, according to Kephis.
