The agreement signed last April between Kenya and China, concerning the export of Kenyan avocados to the Chinese market, has just materialized with the first cargo.

 

 

 

The Kenyan Ministry of Commerce announced that the Chinese authorities had given the green light to import a batch of avocados who fulfilled all their requirements.

 

 

 

Although the Kenya / China Agreement on Avocado Exports only concerns frozen avocados, Kenya is the first African country to export these fruits to China. This suggests a jump in volumes to the Chinese market.

 

 

 

Kenya is also planning to export other agricultural products to China, such as mangos, green beans, herbs and vegetables.
