Production has increased and the value of exports has increased for Togo pineapples.

 

 

 

According to data BCEAO (Central Bank of West African States) pineapple exports in 2018 totaled 1.5 billion FCFA (2.5 million USD) which represents an increase of 50% over 2017.

 

 

 

This performance in the value of exports is explained by an increase in production, which reached 3,300 tons, ie + 73.6% compared to the previous year. In addition, a pineapple processing plant has been installed, which augurs a new performance in value.

 

 

 

Togo's pineapple exports are still low compared with the volume exported by the entire West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), which reached 122,800 tons in 2018.
