Significant growth in exports
With the cultivated products, improved agricultural practices, the implementation of cold chain facilities (collection centers, parks, refrigerated trucks and cold rooms), Rwanda is experiencing an increase in its exports.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2018 flower exports generated $ 4.1 million, vegetable exports $ 12.9 million ($ 11 million the previous year) and fruit exports $7.8 million ($ 4.58 million the previous year).
The country's main exports are onions, green beans, peas, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, eggplants, mushrooms, broccoli, avocados and passion fruit.
Rwanda's exports have grown from $5 million in 2005 to $ 25 million in 2018 and according to government forecasts, annual export income will reach $130 million by 2024.
