A team of Chinese inspectors soon in Kenya

After the agreement on sanitary and phytosanitary standards concluded last November between Kenya and China, a delegation of Chinese inspectors is expected this month in Kenya.

EPC, the Export Promotion Council, announced that a Chinese delegation of inspectors is expected in Kenya on March 27. These inspectors will check the quality standards of Kenyan agricultural products that can be exported to China.

These inspectors will examine various products such as flowers, vegetables, avocados, beans, greens, legumes (peas, beans), aromatic herbs, mangos, peanuts and macadamia nuts.

With an annual export growth of 25% between 2018 and 2022, Kenya will be able to seize new opportunities with the opening of the Chinese market. Its traditional market mostly concentrates on Europe but to reach its ambitious goals Kenya is now targeting Asia looking at the Indian and Chinese markets.
