In Madagascar, the lychee campaign was launched. The harvest will be good, much better than the previous season, both in terms of quality and quantity.

 

 

 

The lychee campaign was launched on November 19th. This 2018-19 season looks very good. According to the CTHT (Horticultural Technical Center of Tamatave) the harvest will be much better than that of the previous campaign, especially thanks to very favorable climatic conditions.

 

 

 

Forecasts predict 100 000 tonnes of lychees in the Atsinanana region, which produced only 70 000 tonnes in 2017.

 

 

 

The European market, the main customer of litchi from Madagascar, will receive the first deliveries by sea, 2 ships carrying 7,800 pallets of litchi, around December 10.
