The Intensive Irrigated Agriculture Project in Tunisia will restore irrigation systems in the agricultural regions of Béja, Bizerte, Jendouba, Nabeul, Sfax and Siliana governorates, with a view to reducing losses, which can be up to 40% of the water used, and to regulate the water supply.
The reliability of irrigation will be synonymous with trust among farmers, who will be encouraged to increase their plantations and invest in higher value crops. The project also aims to help farmers identify more profitable crops, increase yields and facilitate their access to markets.
